Deputy President Cevdet Yilmaz emphasized the enduring friendly relations between Türkiye and Kazakhstan on Thursday, highlighting Türkiye’s status as the first country to recognize Kazakhstan after it declared independence.

“Last year, our exports reached a record level of $256 billion. Our goal this year is to reach $267 billion, and our target for 2026 is to exceed $300 billion in exports,” Yilmaz said.

He underscored the significance of the close relationship between the two countries, facilitated by their strong bond and their efforts to strengthen bilateral ties.

Yilmaz also emphasized the importance of the Turkic Council in advancing shared goals and fostering economic cooperation among member states.

Additionally, he highlighted the positive economic indicators in Türkiye, including surpassing the $1 trillion gross domestic product (GDP) threshold and achieving consistent growth, ranking Türkiye second among EU and OECD countries in terms of economic performance in 2023.

Yilmaz outlined Türkiye’s commitment to supporting bilateral investments and trade, as evidenced by signing a new Action Plan to guide relations across various sectors.

He also stressed the importance of enhancing collaboration in sectors such as construction, where Turkish contractors have undertaken significant projects in Kazakhstan, contributing to the country’s infrastructure development.
