You can now trade your home office for breathtaking views from Istanbul, Dalman, Izmir, and other picturesque destinations in Turkey! Digital nomads can live and work remotely from Turkey (Türkiye), thanks to the nation’s recently launched digital nomad visa programme.

This programme joins Italy’s digital nomad visa initiative, making Europe an even more attractive destination for remote workers seeking a change of scenery in 2024.

This digital nomad visa promotes beautiful destinations within Turkey, namely Istanbul, Dalman, Izmir, Marmaris, Bodrum, Antalya and Fethiye, as remote worker-friendly.

The entire process is online, giving the freedom to apply for it from anywhere in the world. Applicants must register on the official website and provide the scanned documents necessary to apply for the “Digital Nomad Identification Certificate”. Travellers can then apply for Turkey’s digital nomad visa from the designated consulate. The details about the visa fee and validity are yet to be disclosed.

Eligibility criteria: Turkey’s digital nomad visa is for remote workers between 21 and 55 years. Currently, the programme is open to citizens of 29 Schengen Area countries, the US, UK, Canada, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. Applicants will need to demonstrate a monthly income of USD 3,000 (HKD 23,502) or an annual income of USD 36,000 (HKD 282,033).

Documents required:

  • Passport with at least six months validity remaining from the date of arrival in Türkiye;
  • Diploma/Certification of Degree to prove the applicant is a university graduate;
  • Proof of digital noma status – contract with a company (not located in Türkiye) or business contract to show self-employment;
  • Biometric photo;
  • Financial documentation showing a monthly income of USD 3,000 (HKD 23,502) or an annual income of USD 36,000 (HKD 282,033).
