Türkiye has now joined the ranks of digital nomad-friendly nations by launching a visa tailored for foreign remote workers. Whether you’ve been dreaming of embarking on a hot air balloon tour in Cappadocia or admiring Istanbul’s stunning architecture without taking time off work, Turkey’s new digital nomad program could be the perfect fit. As with similar initiatives, the aim is to encourage foreigners to contribute to the country’s growth by residing within its borders.

The eligibility criteria for the new visa are relatively straightforward. Applicants must be aged between 21 and 55 and hail from most EU countries, as well as the United States, United Kingdom, or Canada. For those interested in applying, the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry has set up a dedicated website. Here, applicants can register and submit all required documents, including a passport valid for at least the next six months and a recent photograph. Once approved, applicants will receive their Digital Nomad Identification Certificate, which they can then take to a Turkish visa centre or consulate to obtain the official visa stamp.
