Turkish Airlines is to increase flights from several UK airports to its Istanbul base during summer 2024.

The carrier will add another four weekly flights from Manchester starting on 19 May in addition to its current three flights per day. The extra services will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Serhat Gök, Turkish Airlines’ Manchester general manager, said the additional flights were being introduced to “meet the expected rise in demand from customers” this summer.

“Adding further weekly flights will give customers more opportunities to visit one of Turkey’s most popular spots for travellers keen to immerse themselves in its rich history and culture,” added Gök.

Other moves will see Turkish Airlines introduce another four weekly flights to Istanbul from both Birmingham and London Gatwick airports this summer. There will also be three extra flights per week between Edinburgh and Istanbul on top of the existing daily service on the route.

Turkish Airlines is also boosting its long-haul services including the launch of a route from Istanbul to Melbourne in Australia. This service, which will operate via Singapore, will start on 15 March and operate three times per week.
