TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto on his victory in the 2024 presidential election in a phone call. Erdogan Prabowo also exchanged Eid al-Fitr greetings during the call.

2. Jakarta Governor Advises Post-Eid Newcomers to Have Jobs, Place to Live

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Acting Governor of Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono said that newcomers have the right to enter Jakarta after the Eid holiday, as long as they meet certain criteria; having good jobs and a home to live in.

“That is what the regional government asks from the public,” Heru said on Monday, April 8.

Heru hopes that newcomers to Jakarta will get good jobs and become disciplined citizens of the region. He also hopes that they can participate in maintaining the security and cleanliness of Jakarta.

3. Jokowi to Hold Open House at State Palace

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – President Joko Widodo or Jokowi is scheduled to hold an open house at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Eid. The gathering in the Eid tradition will be open to the community.

On Tuesday, April 9, an Isbat meeting will be held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs to determine when the first day of Shawwal will be. Yusuf Permana, head of the Presidential Secretariat’s Protocol Bureau, said the plan for now is to hold the open house on Wednesday, April 10.
