Catherine’s House is preparing for the upcoming Turkey Trot 5K to be held on Thanksgiving Day

The cherished community tradition not only brings people together for a morning of running and walking but also supports Catherine’s House’s mission to love and empower women and children who are experiencing homelessness through safe housing and services that build self-sufficiency

“Every step we take matters — whether it’s the step you take in the 5K, a step towards supporting your community, or a step towards creating a brighter future for women and children facing homelessness,” the organization said in a press release about the event.

Money raised during the Turkey Trot 5k will directly benefit the housing and program initiatives, helping Catherine’s House ensure that women and children we serve have a place to call home, especially during the holiday season.

The family-friendly event will feature:

  • A scenic 5K route through Belmont
  • Refreshments and prizes for participants
  • Opportunities to learn more about Catherine’s House’s mission and how to get involved

To register, go to catherineshouseinc.org or do so in person on the day of the event between 7 and 7:45 a.m.

The Turkey Trot 5K begins at 8 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of Holy Comforter, 216 N. Main St., Belmont.
