CLEARWATER, FL — The 2023 Tampa Bay Turkey Trot is happening on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 23 at 560 Arcturas Ave., west of the Clearwater High School stadium.
The event, which attracts more than 7,000 walkers and runners includes a 1-mile race at 8:30 a.m. and a 5K race at 7 p.m. Preregistration for the 5K is $30 and preregistration for the 1-mile is $25.
Those interested in participating can sign up online until Wednesday at 5 p.m.
There will be a Tampa Bay Turkey Trot Kick-Off Party on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at the Joe DiMaggio Complex, 2450 Drew St., Clearwater. Enjoy an evening of snacks, music while registering and picking up your turkey trot T-shirt.
Race day registration begins at 6 a.m. and costs $35 for the 5K and $30 for the 1-mile run.
The city of Clearwater is advising residents of temporary road closures to ensure the safety of participants. The Turkey Trot weaves through neighborhoods on the southeast side of Clearwater
On Thursday, Nov. 23, from 6 to 10 a.m., plan to leave prior to the race start or plan for extra travel time if traveling on Keene Road, Hercules Avenue, Nursery Road, Eastfield Drive, Druid Road, Lakeview Road, Magnolia Drive, Sandra Drive, Sever Drive or Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard. Residents along the course will also notice additional pedestrian traffic.
