Turkey tends to be a staple of Thanksgiving dinner — but not for Lions head coach Dan Campbell who is not a fan, unless it’s fried.
“Must have is ham. I’m a big ham guy. I’m not a turkey guy, unless it’s fried turkey,” Campbell said Tuesday on 97.1 The Ticket.
“I’m not a dressing fan. I’m not a cranberry fan, I’ll throw that right out to the dogs,” “Everything else, I’ll load it right on top of each other, full stack.”
Despite Campbell’s arguably egregious choice of meat for Turkey Day, he can do little wrong on Sundays.
The Lions are 20-23-1 since Campbell became head coach in 2021, but have improved each year.
Detroit is currently one of the best teams in the NFL with a 8-2 record — No. 2 in the NFC — the first time the team has reached this mark since 1962.
Before Campbell can dig into his ham, the Lions will face the Green Bay Packers Thursday afternoon for Detroit’s annual Thanksgiving game.
