Helena Turkey Trot fundraises for Vigilante Runners, Helena Novas

Helenans can work up an appetite Thanksgiving Day with Crossroads Fitness’ Turkey Trot.







Helena residents were in full force in 2012 as around 500 people began the 30th Annual Turkey Trot, put on by Crossroad Fitness to benefit Helena Food Share.




Crossroads will host 1K, 5K and 10K runs on Thanksgiving Day, all starting at 10 a.m.

Registration is $10 per person, with proceeds going toward local nonprofit Vigilante Runners and its youth program, Helena Novas, Crossroads said on social media. Children 5 and under are free.

The 42nd annual run begins at Crossroads, 1013 Dearborn Ave.

Runners are encouraged to register in person at Crossroads. They can also register online at runsignup.com/Race/Events/MT/Helena/HelenaTurkeyTrot.

Online registrants have until 10:30 a.m. Thursday to sign up, according to the portal. Volunteers are also welcome, a social media post states.

Vigilante Runners was created in 2009 to promote health and community service through races and events. Helena Novas offers competitive track and field programs for Helena youth ages 7-18.
