PORTLAND (WGME) – The 111th annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Bowl between longtime rivals Portland and Deering will kick off at 10 a.m. Thursday at Fitzpatrick Stadium.
For the second straight November, Portland advanced all the way to the state championship game. The Bulldogs fell to Thornton Academy on Saturday in the Class A state finals to finish at 10-1.
The Rams are coming off one of their best seasons in years, with a 4-4 regular season and a trip to the Class B South quarterfinals. A win on Thursday would help this young football team take another giant step forward.
